Body of teen missing since 2007 found

Cedar City » The body of a Enoch teen who disappeared in 2007 was found Wednesday in a car that apparently rolled down a cliff.

The body is believed to be that of 18-year-old Christopher Robin Coan.

A man was searching for his dog in Right Hand Canyon about 7 miles east of Cedar City when he came upon a wrecked car and informed the authorities. Searchers reached the car early Thursday and found one body in the car, said Enoch Police Chief David Browning. Clothing on the body matched descriptions of what Coan was wearing when he disappeared Sept. 3, 2007, after leaving a Subway sandwich shop in Cedar City, Browning said.

The vehicle identification number on the wrecked maroon and silver Chevrolet Blazer matches Coan's car, Browning said.

The car was about 1,500 feet from the winding mountain road, Browning said.

Browning said Coan's family has been notified. They were shocked but hoped the news would bring closure, Browning said.

Law enforcement and Coan's family have been searching for him since the night he disappeared. Search teams combed Iron County's many canyons and wide back country. Enoch police pursued tips from the pubic -- all of which appear to have been false.

One tip said Coan and his Blazer were at a Park City gas station a few days after his disappearance. An animal control officer in Silver City, N.M., thought she spotted the Blazer there.

Hold tight to memories for comfort,
lean on your friends for strength,
and always remember how much Christopher cared about those who loved him and those who have prayed for him, and his family.

Rest in peace in the arms of the Lord, Christopher...and skate the heavens.  You will be missed.

Love to your family and friends and may they all know that you have touched many lives....even those of us who have not had the honor to have known you.

Prayers always,

Cynthia Caron

Skate the heavens Christopher!

There is a half pipe waiting for a rider to appear

No one knows but he is near

All of the angels waited on top

For the most precious one to drop

When he came they all knew

That God only takes a chosen few

We never know when

We never know why

Memories are what we hold

For now they are like Gold

Brothers Forever

Brothers Forever...

  Loving memories last forever.

He loved, was loved, and will always be loved.

  Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away
into the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone;
wear no false air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
...I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near just around the corner. All is well.

—Henry Scott Holland, English clergyman and theologian

We still remember Christopher as a youngster while working with his father Dave during the building our home here in Cedar City. We know how very much Dave loved his children.

"The law came by Moses but Mercy and Truth came by Jesus the Christ."  Because of His Grace and Mercy we can rest in the knowledge that Chris is enjoying eternity with Him.

We are sad that we not be able to attend the Memorial Service but our hearts and thoughts are with Dave and the family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Chris and his Dad while they were employed at Cedar creek restaurant. I would describe Chris as an "Old Soul" He loved Bob Dylan and the Beetles. He seemed wise beyond his years. He was sweet and caring. I never heard him say anything mean about another person often defending the "underdog" He was a vegetarian. He always had a smile. Though I never met her, I knew he loved his girlfriend.
I have always had Chris on my mind over the past two years. Wondering what could have happened to him. Wishing he were safe. Hoping his family could find the answers. I knew that Dave would NEVER stop looking for him. People who did not know Chris would say things like "He probably just got in to some trouble an ran away." I would always tell them that if you knew Chris you would know he would not do that. He would never leave the people he loved. And he never will. We will miss you!

To the people who found Chris, thank you. you have brought closure to this heart breaking loss. Chris was
and still is an amazing person, wherever he may be.
I loved his personality and his giving and happy nature.
i still keep drawings and notes he would give me in french class, and science.
I miss him, but its good he is in a better place, not suffering.
once again, thank you.

What to say? My heart goes out to all who grieve. Chris made a kind gentle impression on me whenever
he came by the store to visit. Maybe he has been doing some crazy skating with my Ted beyond the veil.
This makes me smile and cry all at once. Peace and Prayers for you.

Thank you for teaching me how to live life. I'll never forget Gardettos in the rain, trying to squeeze you into my prom dress, and our random high school hallway adventures.  You will always hold a very special place in my heart.

My deepest sympathies go out to everyone who had come to know Chris throughout the years, he was truly an amazing person and I feel honored to have spent what time I did with him.

The philosopher Epitetus advised to never say that you have lost something, but rather you have given it back.  So I will never say that I lost a friend, I simply gave him back.

I love and miss you very much Christopher Robin.

It is very sad the outcome and I can't help but hear these words replaying in my head today...this little excerpt from the song Christopher Robin and the House of Pooh Corner.. not making fun... just seems ironic .. the portion that says  "As our days disappeared all too soon,
But I've wandered much further today than I should
And I can't seem to find my way back to the Wood . So help me if you can I've got to get back to the house ..."
and hauntingly looking back I also am reminded of Chris' own words on his myspace .. that campground in the sky...
Be at peace young man.. You are loved dearly.
I wish I had known you in person.
My love to the Coan's and his friends and to Lisa and Tim at Groovacious for never giving up and all the work they did
Thanks to all who supported our search and helped to get the word out and never gave up.
May the Angels wrap their wings around all of you today and forever.
